Inside Your Heaven

I AM NO AMERICAN IDOL fan and my watching the season's finale at midnight last Friday was serendipity, due to insomnia bred by a cup of Starbucks Cafe Mocha I had earlier in the afternoon. It was a toss between watching DVDs (Ocean's Twelve or Miss Congeniality 2, both borrowed from Claire) or the box I haven't sat in front of for a long time, and so the box won. I tuned in to Star, and that's when Ryan Seacrest welcomed me to the audience.

Of the two finalists, it was Bo Bice that won my vote, more because I think he actually sang better (Carrie Underwood's performance was, in my opinion, pitchy.. either flat or sharp...) and his was a new style (lite rock and southern blues combined), one that could breathe a fresh wind into the music industry. But then it appears many people thought otherwise and voted for Carrie, so Carrie won.

Anyway, it was serendipity because now I have a new song for my favorites list, the new American Idol Single, "Inside Your Heaven," and I am just taken by Bo Bice's version of it. (Yup, you guessed it, the MP3 is playing in the background as I type away. ) I figure it'd make a great marriage proposal song. :) Hay... I am overcome by romantic imagery everytime I hear it. Won't you just swoon if some warm, kind-hearted, intelligent man drops a surprise, brings you to an empty stadium, then sings this song to you a la Bo Bice? (And well, I wouldn't mind either if he sings this to me in a stadium with hundreds of people watching...hehehe).

Here are the words. :)
===================
INSIDE YOUR HEAVEN

I've been down
now I'm blessed
I've felt a revelation coming round
I guess it's right
It's so amazing
Everytime I see you I'm alive

You're all I've got
You lift me up
The sun and the moonlight
All my dreams are in your eyes
I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
When the storm blows your way
I wanna be the earth that holds you
Every bit of air you're breathing in
A soothing wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

When minutes turn to days and years
If mountains fall I'll still be here
Holding you until the day I die..

I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
When the storm blows your way

I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
When the storm blows your way
I wanna be the earth that holds you
Every bit of air you're breathing in
A soothing wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

Why AnneThology?

Anthology means a collection of poems, short stories, plays, songs, or excerpts. My name is Anne, and this blog contains a collection of my thoughts, musings and writings (poems, short stories), some songs I like, plus a sprinkling of excerpts I find worth sharing --hence, AnneThology.

Did you know?

Anthology derives from the Greek word ἀνθολογία (anthologia; literally “flower-gathering”) for garland — or bouquet of flowers — which was the title of the earliest surviving anthology, assembled by Meleager of Gadara.

Look, what I have -- these are all for you.
